What it does
Slashi is a free, open-source VS Code extension. Press Cmd/Ctrl + / and type / to open one keyboard-first popup that searches files, settings, extensions, Git actions, terminal commands, your project's scripts and VS Code's own commands, using short names like /format, /commit and /new. It detects your package manager and lists scripts from nested folders. Optional AI backends (VS Code models, Anthropic, OpenAI-compatible, Claude Code or Codex CLI) turn a sentence into steps. Define your own commands, share them with your team in .vscode/slashi.json, or install community packs. MIT licensed.

Keyboard-first VS Code users: web and full-stack developers, monorepo teams, and anyone tired of hunting through menus.
VS Code spreads its features across many surfaces: the Command Palette, Quick Open, the Settings editor, the Extensions view, Source Control and the terminal. You have to remember which one to open and what a command is called, and the palette doesn't rank by relevance. Scripts in nested package.json files can stay hidden from the NPM Scripts view until you open one. Slashi puts these behind a single popup with relevance and frecency ranking, short stable command names and a project script list scanned from the workspace, so you can stay on the keyboard.
